Officially devastated...Chris Odowd has only gone & got engaged!
Just before the year is out, I have a final Weird Couple Alert to provide you with & this one really has just developed out of nowhere!
Eliza Doolittle & Benji Madden!
What da funk!?
I have no idea how this guy even gets a girlfriend.
Seriously, two fugs together...Maybe not so much of an odd couple after all...

I'm rather fond of these snaps of Amy Childs for Topman. Dressed in head-to-toe vintage, sourced by Dazed & Confused stylist Melissa Thompson, directed by John-Paul Pryor & photographed by Michael Hemy, I think the black & white shots are beautiful.
I think it's rather nice to see Amy a little less orange & a little more stylized.
For my twentieth birthday my friend Charlotte & I took off for a week in Rome. Strolling down some random street one day, we stumbled across a gallery which had a Valentino exhibition on at the time. We were overly excited & spent several hours wondering round.
I didn't think any more about the exhibition after we left Rome, but then as I opened my December issue of Vogue, there was a picture of the exhibition, glaring out at me. The article was about Patrick Kinmonth, curator, painter, writer, stylist, art director, & designer of the retrospective.
Turns out the exhibition was just one of his many wonders. Anna Wintour herself, asked Patrick
to act as creative consultant for the Anglo Mania exhibition, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Kinmonth has also been collaborating with Vogue for years, working on projects for Burberry, Prada, Gucci, Versace, Calvin Klein, among others. Kinmonth has also turned his creative hand to the stage, designing for many an opera & ballet.
His most recent challenge was directing a performance of Bach's St Matthew Passion, with the help of charitable foundation Vocal, whose aim is to entice a younger audience to the opera. The first performance was held in an old concrete laboratory hidden away in Marylebone. The project aimed to engage a new audience, by producing performances in unusual spaces.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing what Patrick Kinmonth has to offer in 2012. Definitely one to keep an eye on.
"But what is the good of friendship if you cannot say exactly what one means? Anybody can say charming things & try to please & to flatter, but a true friend always says unpleasant things & does not mind giving pain. Indeed, if he is a really true friend, he prefers it, for he knows that then he is doing good" - Oscar Wilde
Today has mostly been spent taking Mr Piggles for his Boxing Day walk, watching my new French films & eating the Girdlebuster I made...
Unfortunately, although I am twenty four years old, I am still teething (evil wisdom tooth), the pain of which is putting me off eating. There is so much food in the house, I don't know if we'll ever get through it! I haven't even made my festive bubble & squeak with bacon, poached egg & hollandaise sauce! Maybe tomorrow.
Joyeux Noël mes amis!
The day has finally arrived. All the gifts under the tree have been unwrapped. I spent three hours butchering & cooking the goose. About ten minutes eating it. Several more hours moaning about how full I felt. Two hours napping it off. A few more bits of snacking when I woke up & now I'm contemplating making the 'girdlebuster pudding'.
I hope you're having an equally gluttonous Christmas Day!
It's Christmas Eve!!!
So it is officially the beginning of the feast!
The cheese platter is out...
& the champagne cork has been popped!
Only so many more hours & the big day will be here & we'll all be able to open our gifts!
Merry Christmas Eve everybody!
I'm (not so) sorry to admit I've been shopping AGAIN! I think I have a problem...
But, in my defense, they were all in the sale!

I bought everything from Topshop, except the jumper, which is from Topman. (Oooh I do love menswear!) I also bought some gold leggings for ten pounds. Oooh I do love a bargain!
This Christmas, I have decided to go all out & make mince pies...from scratch!
I made my own mincemeat & even learned how to sterilize jars!
Then I made my own pasty. Unfortunately...I wasn't as good at that.
So my mince pies don't look quite as good as Nigella's, but they taste good. Honest!
My love for menswear grows everyday. I enjoy buying it & I enjoy wearing it. But, I'd quite like to actually have a manshape to give it to.
Maybe one day.
In the meantime, here are my top ten menswear picks, courtesy of mrporter.com...

Thibaut Berland - Possibly one of the sweetest DJs alive.
Ellie & I managed to meet him before his set in Montpellier this summer. We intruded on his dinner & he shared his fois gras & chips with us. Looks like Jesus & acts as sweet as I'm sure my homeboy was.
