Le Festival De Cannes 2011

Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman attended the Elle & Dior party, wearing an all black ensemble.  I thought she looked rather chic.

Also at the Elle & Dior party was Zhang Ziyi, who wore a stunning gold dress, which I am now officially in love with!  [sigh]

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

Absolutely loving the coral dress worn by Blanca Suarez!  I need this in my life, STAT!

Eve Hewson stepped out in a Mui Mui number, which Chloë Sevigny also wore on a Twin Magazine shoot!  I'm not blown away by it, but I quite like it.

Jude Law finally got it right & proved why he was named my one time Hot to Trot of the Week.

Kanye West & Carine Roitfeld attended the amfAR's gala hand-in-hand.  Seriously now, is there anyone Kanye is not friends with???  Regardless the pair make a dayumn fine couple!

I'm gonna throw it out there, I think I rather like Ryan Gosling's getup.  I think he's got the swagger to pull this shiz off.

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

Courtney Courtney Courtney, what can I say.  This woman is incapable of not looking a mess!

Gwen Stefani donned a monochrome number by Armani Privé.  I quite liked the shape & cut of the dress, however, either the dress or Gwen's posture is causing her to look pregnant.  Is this just me?

Italian actress & TV host Fiammetta Cicogna wore a rather fetching & multi-hued dress, the shape of which I was rather drawn to.  I have no idea of the designer though.

Ryan Gosling (pictured with Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn) was looking rather dapper in his tux, which was spotted only a few days ago, in a grey hue, on Jude Law!  I have to say, I'm loving it on Ryan, but it was so not working for Jude.  Sorry Jude, maybe next time.

French actress Clotilde Hesme was wearing some avant-garde creation that was simply bizare!  I excuse most fashion faux pas' made by ze French, however, this one...

Charlotte Gainsbourg was looking effortless cool in her black playsuit.  Look, I'm not gonna lie, the French connections do help sway my opinion in way of fashion.  It's a French thing.  Don't ask.

I really feel Jodie Foster's dress is so middle-aged.  Brown & I have never been friends & I doubt we ever shall be...

Kirstin Dunst's mustard Chloé number on the other hand is faboosh!  I am not a big Dunst fan, but I give her full kudos for this lil number.

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

I'm just gonna ignore the craziness that is Mel Gibson, 'cause dude is craZy!  Jodie Foster on the other hand is just a lesbiano, so y'know, we can discuss.  Her one-shouldered number is by Giorgio Armani & is well fitting, but just seems to be lacking something entirely!

Bar Rafaeli also chose midnight blue, but this time a figure-hugging number by Roberto Cavalli.  All I can say is, it's an improvement on that sequined trash she was sporting the other day.  P.S. Bar, I hear your ex is spending some 'quality time' with Blake Lively.  Girlfriend, you've got no chance against the Lively, so you can kiss goodbye to that hot piece of ass!

Milla Jovovich picked a '20's inspired Prada number.  I think it's the belt I don't like.  I don't know, it just cheapens it somehow.  Meh.

Eva Herzigova looks AMA-ZIIING after popping out her second child!  Dayumn girl!  Those matchsticks are hot to trot!

Dutch supermodel Doutzen Kroes also looks ama-ziiing in her black maxi dress.  Loving her hair too.  [sigh]

I'm really questioning Jude Law's logic when he picked that suit...

Jessica Chastain wore a stunning sherbert number by Zac Posen.  Really liking it.  Sean Penn actually scrubbed up really well & trust that that is hard for me to say, considering I loathe him to within an inch of myself.  Brad Pitt is still looking fugz in the face, no tux is gonna change that.

Gwen Stefani is another individual I don't often care for, however, I am muchos in love with her embroidered jumpsuit from Stella McCartney's Autumn/Winter 2011 collection!  I think it looks amazing on her, especially with her hair like that.  Gavin was definitely working his suit too.

Angelina Jolie wore a chocolate brown silk Atelier Versace gown.  I love the shape, but I'm not enamoured of the colour.  I think an injection of colour could have done her some good.

Zoe Saldana wore a striking gown by Armani Privé.  Actually really like this number...Not so much the shoes though.  Gawd, I'm turning into a shoe Nazi!

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

Leo's ex Bar Refaeli, was working hooker chic in her lil sequined number.  Definitely not on the approval list.  Yes Bar you do have a beautiful face & of course you do have a bangin' body, but no, this does not mean you can throw on any sequined number & look hot!  Okay, she still looks hot, but the outfit is fugz.

Naomi Campbell wore a rather gothic number by Emilio Pucci.  It defo looks as though you'd see her arse crack if she turned round...Just sayin'.  Not rating.

Uma Therman chose to break her white spell & wore this (apparently) green lace number.  I don't hate it.  The shoes on the other hand...

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

I'd like to pose the question:  What ever happened to Brad Pitt?  Guy used to look super fly, now...It's definitely the hair, especially the facial variety.  I'm just not feeling the love anymore.  [sigh]  Words just cannot express this overall look.

Brad's co-star Jessica Chastain was essentially faultless in this Oscar de la Renta number.  Good choice of shoe.  Definitely Porritt approved choices!

The pair are currently starring in the new film The Tree of Life.  Looks a bit dark & meaningful.  Could be worth a watch.  Although, the era & settings distinctly remind me of Benjamin Button, which of course Brad Pitt also starred in.  Thoughts?

Elizabeth Olsen rocked up to The Cannes Film Festival in a beautiful embroidered number from her sisters' fashion line The Row.

Love the dress, but I don't think I'll ever have the same love for Elizabeth, as I do for Ashley & MK.

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

I'm secretly quite liking Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey right now.  I have a thing for the French, did I forget to mention that...Hmmm.  She's a year older than me & she speaks French, Spanish & Catalan.  [sigh]

I'm definitely digging her ivory dress from the Chanel Spring 2009 Couture collection.  Thinking that the shoes could have been improved upon though.

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

Firstly I'd just like to talk about Axelle Laffont's jumpsuit.  Quite simply, what da funk!?  I don't even hate it, oddly.  But the boobs!  What's up with that!?  If she'd have just buttoned it that lil bit more, I could totally love this outfit, as it stands...I'm feeling it's Page 3 material.  Nuff said.

Clémence Poésy wore a powder blue number, which appears to have received mass criticism, with most people saying it looked as though she was playing dress up in her mother's clothes.  I for one didn't mind the frock & rather liked the shoes too.  Alright, I'll admit it, Clémence would probably struggle to do wrong in my eyes.

Uma Therman wore a couture piece from Chanel's Autumn/Winter 2008 collection.  I'm not gonna lie, not greatly feeling it.  I take it Uma's theme for the festival is strictly white, white white...?

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

Penélope Cruz was spotted wearing a deep blue number by Stella McCartney during the day, but later changed into a lilac tulle gown from Marchesa's Autumn/Winter 2011 collection for the evening.  Neither of which I felt entirely drawn to.

Johnny Depp, once my ultimate man crush, now...Not so much.  His whole Jack Sparrow/Johnny Depp merge is really unappealing if I'm honest.  Although, he cleaned up his act for his red carpet appearance in the evening.  Oh Johnny, so much talent & hawtness, why waste it on daggy threads.  [sigh]

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

SJP attended the Weinstein Company's VIP press event in an embroidered maxi dress from Dolce & Gabbana's Spring/Summer 2011 collection.  Not 100% on this number, I think it's the belt to be fair.

Later in the evening SJP changed into this dark floral number from the Ellie Saab Autumn/Winter ready to wear collection, for the Wu Xia premiere, which pushed my buttons a lil more.

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

Firstly: EPIC FAIL by Lara Stone & Natalia Vodianova, both in Calvin Klein.  How can you possibly look at either of these dresses & think them flattering!  Is this just me?  Seriously...NO!  Plus they are both wearing fugtastic shoes.  Eurgh!

Vanessa Hudgens was defo werking her asymmetrical number, athough again, I wasn't rating the shoe choice.  Clémence Poésy was also werking her shift dress & I'm loving her box clutch!  Still hatin' on the shoes though.  I'm clearly becoming a shoe hater.  Say it ain't so Joe!  P.S. Clémence's hair is enviable on many levels in that pic!

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

Bonsoir mes amis!  Yesterday Blogger decided to shut down & wipe off all of my posts for the 12th May, like an irritating twat!  Thankfully it is now back up & running & the posts have been returned.  However, I am still experiencing some technical difficulties.  I'm hoping the situation will be resolved shortly.

In the meantime, I shall continue with my eye spying of the Cannes fashion parade:

Emily Browning chose a lace Valentino number, which I thought was sweet, but not quite enough to impress.  Plus, is it just me (or the dress), or does she look really frickin' short!?  Regardless, I am quite intrigued to see her new film Sleeping Beauty, which looks quite dark & interesting.

Alexa Chung donned a simplistic vintage ivory number by Balenciaga.  I would definitely state Ms Chung as a celebrity I love to hate & hate to love.  Girlfriend's pins are REDIC!  I need matchsticks like that!  [sigh]

Diane Kruger wore a simply chic custom gold beaded dress from the Calvin Klein Collection, designed by the brand's creative director Francisco Costa.  Kruger is of course the current face for Calvin Klein Beauty.

I think Joshua Jackson is channeling Justin Bieber, with the whole sneakers & tux look.  Joshua, you are not sixteen anymore, step it up!

Rachel McAdams wore a gold bustier & high-waisted trousers by Monique Lhuillier.  Colour wise I'm liking it, but in some other pictures the trousers didn't seem greatly flattering.  I have to admit I have a phobia of trousers unless they're super skinny.  It's just a thing...

Le Festival De Cannes 2011

As day turns to night, here's a pick of my favourite evening gowns...

Uma Therman donned a stunning white Versace number, which has a gorgeous cut out back.  Shame she's got crinkle back.

Rachel McAdams was working her slightly oriental themed dress by Marchesa & Salma went for another Gucci number, which in fairness I'm feelin'.
